3D ACIS Modeling

The 3D ACIS® Modeler (ACIS) is Spatial’s prominent 3D modeling engine used in over 350 customer applications with more than 1.5 million seats worldwide. ACIS features an open, object-oriented C++ architecture that enables robust, 3D modeling capabilities. It is particularly well suited for developing applications with hybrid modeling features, since it integrates wireframe, surface, and solid modeling functionality with both manifold and non-manifold topology, and a rich set of geometric operations. ACIS provides a sound base of 3D modeling functionality, plus the flexibility to meet individual application requirements. 3D Modeling also includes ACIS extensions for specific application needs including hidden line removal, deformable modeling, advanced covering and defeaturing.

Thread-Safe ACIS Modeler

Thread-Safe ACIS Modeler enables multi-threaded applications to take advantage of multi-core hardware platforms for compute intensive operations. CAD, CAM, and CAE and related applications that support assembly models can achieve significant performance gains in areas such as regeneration of models in an assembly, assembly loading and faceting, and generating section views of assembly parts, and global operations that affect multiple parts, such as an assembly cut. Thread-Safe ACIS benefits include near linear performance gains on multi-core hardware platforms.

Applications must be multi-threaded to achieve performance gains with Thread-Safe ACIS. In most cases incremental development work is required. Spatial development and professional service resources are available to assist in the development effort.
